The child actors would also likely return: Scarlett Estevez and Owen Vaccaro as Sara and Dusty’s kids, Megan and Dylan, and Didi Costine as Karen’s daughter, Adrianna. All the other main cast members would be expected to return: Linda Cardellini as Sara, Brad’s wife and Dusty’s ex Alessandra Ambrosio as Karen, Dusty’s doctor/novelist wife John Cena as Roger, Karen’s ex. If Daddy’s Home 3 does eventually get made, then Ferrell and Wahlberg would likely reprise their roles as Brad and Dusty. While there’s been no official confirmation of Daddy’s Home 3, the fact that Ferrell and Wahlberg have each maintained a strong working relationship with Anders suggests that the threequel is still a very real possibility. Wahlberg played adoptive father Pete Wagner in Anders’ semi-autobiographical dramedy Instant Family in 2018 and Ferrell played Ebenezer Scrooge, the current Ghost of Christmas Present, in the holiday-themed musical comedy Spirited (a modern retelling of Charles Dickens’ classic novella A Christmas Carol) in 2022.
In the years since Daddy’s Home 2 was released in theaters, Paramount hasn’t greenlit a third movie.įerrell and Wahlberg have separately reunited with Daddy’s Home director Anders after working on the first two Daddy’s Home movies. Before long, Ferrell and Wahlberg were both preoccupied with other projects. However, despite Daddy’s Home 2 achieving similar success at the box office, the studio wasn’t as quick to announce Daddy’s Home 3.

Daddy’s Home 2 was officially announced with Ferrell and Wahlberg returning in April 2016 (via Deadline), just four months after the first movie was released in theaters.
While the possibility of Daddy’s Home 3 has been floated around in various interviews with the cast and crew, the threequel has not been confirmed to be in development at Paramount.
